Barclays Bank

The design called for three different types of spaces, a private meeting room away from the main floor, a private soundproofed booth for walk in meetings and a long, open table for general queries and discussions that don’t require as much privacy. The heritage behind Barclays was emphasised to celebrate their presence in the community throughout the years and to create a more familiar, accessible banking experience.

Whitewashing the interior and bringing in colour through lighting and furniture created a space that can be updated easily and grow with the branch’s use. The long tables and bespoke clad coffee machine ensure a relaxed overall view on entrance with a more casual staff approach due to the installation of self service machines. Staff are now accessible and approachable, not behind glass, ready to talk to you in either of the seating areas they deem appropriate for the level of privacy required.
